Orford
An oak box passing through a brick box, by Nash Baker Architects, utilises natural materials in replacing a 1980’s building. Suffolk skies, great light and expansive views across to the coast are a huge part of this modest home and garden. From the street the proposed setting is a meadow verge beneath feathered birch. Towards the coast the design proposal is for a dry stream greening as it travels down the slope. In periods of rain the roof water floods the sea washed pebble valley, beneath the delicate oak bridge. The mood and character of this location are reinforced by a dry coastal planting scheme.
